Supporting small charities focused on the environment, education and the Third World
The charitable trust was founded in 1961 by the former Labour cabinet minister John Diamond, later Lord Diamond. His family continue to act as Trustees deciding which charities they should support each year.
Educational and General has supported numerous small charities over the years both in the UK and abroad, from educational special needs provision for UK children to water projects in the Third World.
Through annual or continuing small grants, our aim is to support smaller charities working in our preferred areas of education, the environment and Third World development.
